The Jerusalem Center for Security and Foreign Affairs (JCFA) in the Media

The Jerusalem Center for Security and Foreign Affairs (JCFA) works to deepen public and policy understanding of critical security, strategic, and legal issues vital to Israel’s future and its foreign relations. Our researchers are regularly interviewed by leading media outlets in Israel and worldwide. They also publish opinion pieces, participate in public discussions, and influence both national and international agendas.

Journalists seeking further information, comments, or interviews with any of the JCFA’s researchers are invited to contact the Center’s spokesperson, Kirill Gayvoronskiy, at kirill@jcpa.org.

Selected Coverage from Israeli Media

In a joint effort, the Jerusalem Center for Security and Foreign Affairs (JCFA) and Palestinian Media Watch (PMW) have formally requested FIFA to take action against Jibril Rajoub, Chairman of the Palestinian Football Association, for severe incitement and racism. In a complaint submitted to FIFA’s judicial and governmental bodies, our researchers presented evidence that Rajoub not only violates FIFA’s principles but also uses his position to foster hatred, encourage violence, and deny Israel’s existence in international sports.

Peer Syed Mudassir Shah, a prominent Muslim religious leader from Pakistan, stated during his visit to Israel this week: “Hamas committed a crime not only against Israel but against all humanity.” During his visit, facilitated by the Jerusalem Center for Security and Foreign Affairs, Peer Syed Mudassir Shah condemned the October 7th massacre and called for dialogue between Israel and Pakistan.

Dr. Dan Diker, President of the Jerusalem Center for Security and Foreign Affairs, commented on Kan News regarding Prime Minister Netanyahu’s anticipated speech to Congress: “Netanyahu needs to explain to the West that we are in a first-rate cognitive war waged by Hamas-Iran, with the help of China and and Russia.” Dr. Diker elaborated: “We must understand that there is a frontal collision here between the West and Israel concerning the Palestinian state. Another terrorist Palestinian state is the path to another October 7th.” According to him, Netanyahu must change this narrative, as Trump’s election doesn’t negate the two-state idea. “Trump wants Israel to handle the war now and doesn’t want to get involved in Middle East wars. His election will not cancel American attempts to bring about peace through such a solution.”

“One must be very careful not to be swayed by all the noise and psychological warfare accompanying the negotiations,” says Oded Ailam, former head of the Mossad’s counter-terrorism division and now a researcher at the Jerusalem Center for Security and Foreign Affairs. According to him, “If there is a nation that is the master of negotiation in the Middle East – it’s the Iranians. They use threats precisely to increase pressure on the Americans to reach an agreement, which is essentially an improved version of the 2015 Obama agreement.” Ailam highlights the disparities between the representatives: “On the Iranian side sits a fox like Abbas Araghchi, and on the American side – a real estate agent like Steve Witkoff, who is not even in their league.”

Selected Coverage from International Media

In a recent BBC report, Lt. Col. (res.) Adv. Maurice Hirsch, former Chief Military Prosecutor for Judea and Samaria and currently a researcher at the Jerusalem Center for Security and Foreign Affairs, responded to global criticism of Israel’s military operations in Gaza: “This is not Israel’s fault. We didn’t ask for this war. We didn’t initiate it. We don’t want it to continue.”

Dr. Yitzhak Mansdorf, a clinical psychologist and researcher at the Jerusalem Center for Security and Foreign Affairs (JCFA), was interviewed on i24NEWS about the release of the first three hostages by Hamas: Emily Damari, Doron Steinbrecher, and Romy Gonen. He examined the psychological and social aspects of their return home and shared insights on how the public can contribute to the healing process.

The President of the Jerusalem Center for Security and Foreign Affairs, Dr. Dan Diker, and researcher Khaled Abu Toameh, discussed Israel’s biggest concerns in the fourth week of the ‘Swords of Iron’ war on FOX News.
