Dr. Shaul Bartal is a military analyst and a lecturer on Palestinian Affairs at Bar-Ilan University. He is the author of The Fedayeen Emerge: The Palestine-Israel Conflict, 1949-1956 (Bloomington, 2011); Jihad in Palestine: Political Islam and the Israeli-Arab Conflict (London, 2015).
